Pelajar Cemerlang Matrikulasi ditaja ke Luar Negara

CHANGLUN - Seramai 192 pelajar lepasan kolej matrikulasi Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (KPM) ditaja melanjutkan pelajaran ke luar negara sejak 2006 hingga tahun ini.

Timbalan Menteri Pelajaran, Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi berkata semua pelajar yang ditaja itu mengikuti bidang pengajian kritikal iaitu Sains dan Matematik.

Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi

- Bernama

Art For Grabs: APOKALIS!

Arts & Craft Bazaar, Launching, Leature, Screening and much more...
November 2012, Sat 15 & Sun 16 | 12 - 8pm
Admission Free!

Presented by Buku Fixi & The Annexe Gallery
Sponsored by IPPF ESEAOR (International Planned Parenthood Federation - East & South East Asia & Oceania Region)

Were the Mayans right or wrong? If the world will indeed end (or change drastically!) on December 22, you could do worse things with your last weekend (or your last weekend of this era) than hang out with the earthy folks at Art for Grabs.

As usual, we have dozens of stalls featuring arts & crafts by our funkiest vendors such as the offbeat Chi Too, the recycling genius Carolyn Lau, the mouth-watering Artisan Fruit jam, the popular IHeartBadges, including the fortune-telling Jolin Kwok to tell us if we make it past the Apokalips. In case the world does survive, we will still need to keep improving it. So come and be part of a few good causes with our sponsored booths: Amnesty International, SUARAM, Jom Vote and Tanma Federation, plus an interactive section by our sponsor IPPF ESEAOR (International Planned Parenthood Federation - East & South East Asia & Oceania Region).

We have 16 hours of events that include forums, launches and movie screenings. Featuring James Lee, Dina Zaman & Present Tense Plus, BFM’s WTF duo Uma & Jo; book launches by Fixi, Selut, Lejen & Sharon Bakar; and more.

All the events are FREE.

The camaraderie, charm and creativity you will find here will make you glad to be alive. So even if it’s not the end of the world as we know it, you’ll feel fiiiine.

ART FOR GRABS: Apokalips! is jointly presented by IPPF ESEAOR, The Annexe Gallery and Fixi Books.

SAT 15 DEC

12.00 PM:
UMA & JOE AT THE MOVIES: Apocalyptic Movie Commentary
Presented by the duo formerly known as WTF
BFM Radio’s WTF (What the Flick) has come to an end. But fret not! The intrepid hosts Umapagan Ampikaipakan and Johanan Sen will be presenting a non-stop “live” commentary on a disaster flick that depicts the end of the world. The title of the film will only be known just as the screening starts. Kuaci might be provided.

2.00 PM:
CERPEN KHAIRULNIZAM BAKERI
Book launch by Fixi
Book launch by Silverfish Books

JOURNEY OF A KERIS
Talk by Zulkhairu Mohammad / Present Tense Plus
The keris has long been seen as a virile symbol of Malayness. It's been glorified, and many pursue it as an affirmation of status. Yet it is reviled too, for idolising the keris is syirk. But what is the keris? How did a weapon used by Malay warriors and Sultans end up in the storerooms of old junk stores and dying keris makers? Zulkhairu Mohammad is a keris fanatic and advocate. He and his friends will share an hour of their love and experience.

6.00 PM:
Documentary screening presented by IPPF ESEANOR
A powerful documentary on the realities of living with HIV/AIDS. More details will be provided later.

4.00 PM:
JATUH

What happens when your loved ones are called in for investigations by the authorities? Are they safe? One Day Without Vehicle USMKKj

"We are from 3rd year student School of Chemical Engineering USMkkj will organize a campaign 'One Day Without Vehicle' around the engineering campus on Monday (10/12/12). This for our Environmental Project. Come lets join and support us!!! Thanks!!!"

Link Invitation Event: One Day Without Vehicle Campaign

Kota Bogotá merupakan pemegang rekod "the world's largest car-free weekday event" dengan sambutan acara meliputi keseluruhan bandarnya. Hebatkan?

Di Malaysia jangankan Vehicle-free Day, Vehicle-free Zone pun takda. Laluan penjalan kaki pun kena sebat dek motorsikal. Apa pun tak boleh! *sigh*

So Kuala Lumpur dan Johor Bahru, bila lagi?

Kenapa Harus Matrikulasi?

*Sebab bukan Politeknik, Kolej Mara, Diploma mahupun Tingkatan 6! Hiks.

"Saya rasa result SPM saya nanti tak bagus punya. Saya dah tilik dalam air nujum Pak Belalang."

"Masa beli no pin BSN, saya tersedar duit saya hanya ada RM5.90 dalam poket. Tak cukup lagi seposen."

"Saya tak bayar broadband. Cyber cafe pun tak bukak. Time cyber cafe bukak, hujan pulak."

"Result saya bagus! No pin pun dah beli! Line internet laju sangat! Tapi masa nak mohon tu, rupanya permohonan dah tutup. Sedih sangat."

Janji sambung belajar. Jangan terhenti di tingkatan lima sahaja, sebab potensi diri belum digilap sepenuhnya lagi. Rezeki ada dimana-mana dengan usaha.
